Today I've attended a Meraki technical training course at Cisco offices.

The training was organized in short presentations of product features followed by hands-on labs based on all the products available today.

I was suprised to find not only people from small companies or system integrators but more that 50% of the attendees were from Cisco Gold Partners sent to evaluate the products for "managed network" services. Cloud managed network gear is quite a hot topic today and I expect many projects in the future will involve this kind of solutions.

Included in the trainig day there is a complimentary Meraki demo kit (and t-shirt) that includes:

  • 1 LIC-MX64-SEC-3YR Meraki MX64 Advanced Security License and Support, 3 Years

  • 1 MS220-8P-HW Meraki MS220-8P L2 Cloud Managed 8 Port GigE 124W PoE Switch

  • 1 LIC-MS220-8P-3YR Meraki MS220-8P Enterprise License and Support, 3 Year

  • 1 MX64-HW Meraki MX64 Cloud Managed Security Appliance

  • 1 LIC-ENT-3YR Meraki MR Enterprise Cloud Controller License, 3 Years

  • 1 MR32-HW Meraki MR32 Cloud Managed AP

That's enough hardware to test many features and to do some POC for interested customers.
